After working as a manager at several hair salons around Tokyo, I sought to open my own salon, so in May of 1997, the Atelier May Mizonokuchi store in Tokyo, Japan was launched. Then, in May of 2005, Atelier May launched in Toronto.
I am ready to make suggestions for easy hair care and will provide any instruction for styling and maintenance techniques after you have had your hair cut.

After graduating from the Le Toa East Asian Beauty Institute, I went abroad, seeking to perfect my skills as a beautician as well as continue my study of the English language. I came to Atelier May in Toronto and am currently working as a hairstylist assistant.
When my customers tell me "That was wonderful!" it is truly uplifting and for that reason I work very hard to constantly improve my skills. I eagerly await all customers who walk through our doors. |

I have been living in Toronto since July, 2008 on a working-holiday program. In Japan, I worked within the food and beverage industry for six years.
At the salon, I am called “O-chan” by many of the staff but it makes me think that I’ll be thought of as a teenager for eternity! I won’t be in Toronto for much longer, so please everyone, and come visit our salon! |

In the summer of 2004 I began studying Japanese. Almost a year later I discovered Atelier May through the Internet and began coming here as a customer. In that time the staff at Atelier May have helped immensely in my study of the Japanese language. Resulting from my success in Japanese, I began studying Korean and Mandarin Chinese as well. In the summer of 2008 I began working at Atelier May.
I hope that every customer who comes through our doors feels completely at ease and I aim to provide the best service I can in pursuit of that goal.
Please come visit us at Atelier May!
